Sharon Springs, NY, March - May 2003

The ground level has a new open kitchen and living room while the upper floor contains two additional guest bedrooms and bathrooms. Half way up, at the turning point of the ramped corridor, a reflection room invites one to pause. A grand window offers views of the large property and the surrounding Catskill Mountains. The glass of this window is perpendicular to the bisecting line of the ramp. At night the glass faintly reflects interior light and serves as a mirror to see the full length of the ramped corridor from each end, much like Bruce Nauman’s Double Wedge Corridor with Mirror from 1970.
