Smarty
Holder for extension cord, 1998Vacuum formed blue plastic, metal, orange electric cord, plugs, rubber plunger, 14 1/2 x 14 1/2 x 17"
Smarty is a functional and playful sculpture based on the same mechanism used in a spinning top toy. Pushing down the handle spins the lens shaped barrel and sucks in the cable like a spaghetti.
Exhibited in 2007 at the Musee d'Art et d'Histoire Geneva during the "Plastic" show curated by Christophe Cherix and John Tremblay, with a catalogue published by JPR Ringier
