Inspired by Paul Schatz’s 1929 mechanical patent for an invertible cube, my Hexahedron is made out of soft materials that fill the entire volume of the cube. What sets it apart from Schatz’s innovation is there are no additional interlocking parts. Rather, six sharp edged foam pieces are connected and covered in fabric that transform it from a stool to a comfortable lounge chair for one person to a hexagonal ring for three reclining people.
